Claire Jackson studied Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford, and has exhibited widely in both her home town of Leicester and in London.  She has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery's Portrait Award exhibition; the 2023 and 2025 Society of Women Artists annual shows; and the 2024 and 2026 Birmingahm Open.  She regularly exhibits at the Leicester Open, where her work has been awarded several prizes.  Claire has also held a number of solo exhibitions including two at the Leicester Gallery, showing portraits of Leicester residents from the city's diverse faiths.

She paints in oils, as well as drawing in ink, pencil and pastel.  She favours bright colours and bold expressive lines  Influenced by artists and designers like Matisse, Kaffe Fassett, William Nicholson and Berthe Morisot she loves to paint portraits from life but will also work to commissions using photographs.

An enthusiastic gardener, Claire divides her time between tending flowers and painting them!
